It's been a while...

Sew Hungry

So let's jump right in to this week's topic of ponderificness! How would you spell that word if it were a word? Anyhow - here is what I ask you:

What price will you pay for a good pair of boots? And what are your 3 major criteria?

This has been on my mind as of late because I feel that I can never find boots I like for a decent price. Growing up in Southern California - I wore flip flops and Uggs all through winter. Now I am an adult and live/travel in places that require fashionable yet functional footwear. I bought a new pair of boots a couple months ago because last year's boots were dead. The new boots SUCK. Water seeping all up in my toes - wet socks for hours, cold feet for days, can't get warm. So next time I buy boots I want a good pair but not super high dollar. I need some boot advice people!

And here you go and your welcome! Because I know the title of this post stuck this song in your head:

Happy Friday people! Go take on the world!

  1. I'm not really any help, because I'm a Doc Marten's kinda gal. I will try to remember to ask my bestie who lives in Boston, though! I know she spends a lot of time on modcloth, and they have some pretty kickin' boots on there!

  2. I JUST heard this song on the radio yesterday!!
Boots: I have a pair of Columbia boots from about 5 years ago that are still fantastic. I've had to replace the laces a few times, but the boot itself(tread/waterproofness-is that even a word!) is still in perfect condition. I live in Ohio, near a snow belt, so they've had their share of winter action. They were around $75 when I bought them...but well worth it. I've also heard great things about LLBean boots. Good luck!!

  3. Are you looking for rubber boots or leather boots? I bought pair of Hunter rubber boots a few years ago - the price is high for rain boots, but they are by far FAR my faves. They are super comfy, well-fitted and made from one piece -no seams for water to leak in. You can buy (or make!) fleece inserts for warmth. Plus they come in fun colours!
