Sewjo oh sewjo where have you gone?!?!?

Sorry for all the quiet times over here. I think the crazy crafting storm that happened before the holidays combined with a week away from all of my crafts had a very bizarre effect on my crafting nature. I managed to get some knitting in this past Tuesday night, and also had to clean up the crafting volcano that exploded in my house before MO got back. Doing this helped me realize I have way too much fabric for the level of productivity in this house. Time to get busy! I have a lot I want to make and have fabric for so wish me luck :-)

Also in the next six months I need to graduate, figure out where I am moving, find a place to live there, move there, go to 2 bachelorette parties, be a bridesmaid in a wedding, baby showers galore, and so much more! I feel my brain might explode...

With that said - let's look at a list or have an idea of what needs to happen:

NUBEE'S QUILT - this was on my hustle list but I didn't get to it. I need to make a window pane block for myself which will bring the block total up to 16. I think I should make one more row of blocks in order to make it a good size for snuggling under on the couch. Also I can't decide if I want sashing or not between the blocks. What do you think?

I think he needs another row...
HONEY COWL - I decided I wanted to do the Honey cowl by Madeline Tosh because so many people had made beautiful ones. Some of my favorites are Angela'sPam's, and Colleen's. I am not that great with color accessorizing so I went with just a real nice gray. I would like to finish this before it gets too warm again. This is what I have so far:

sorry for the blurry picture
WEDDING QUILT - I saw this beautiful quilt by Angela a while back and new it would make a great gift for a friend getting married this April. I also know that some Flea Market Fancy would be right up her alley. So, I have been hoarding FMF and bought the On a Whim pattern here. Now to begin cutting and piecing :-)

CINQUE TERRE QUILT - I like to play with the Play Crafts palette builder and have made a ton of palettes. I made one specifically from a photo I took in Cinque Terre, Italy. Then Anne over at Play Crafts (an incredible quilter herself - check out her Angry Birds mini!) featured it in her palette highlights she does. You can hsee all the awesome fabrics she pulled to match the palette I built. I decided to buy most of them and have chosen to use the Kitchen Dishes pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. Here is an example of the quilt and the pattern can be found in her book The Practical Guide to Patchwork, which I bought for myself. So here is a picture of the palette and fabrics:

I am going to try and make some headway on these projects over the next two months. Wish me luck and help keep me accountable please!

Hope you are all having a great weekend! Sorry for the long post - more to come and it will be shorter and more succinct :-)

cheers
kim

  1. Love the Nubee's quilt blocks. I think dark grey sashing would look amazing and set each square off like little picture frames. Good luck with your plans. I do so love those honey cowls as well, but cannot knit to save my life!

  5. I'm in the same boat. I have a million things I could be working on, but nothing I HAVE to do now, so here I sit! I'm sure we'll be back at it soon.

  6. I have that problem after a super productive time, too! Just don't feel like quilting at all!
I vote sashing on NuBees quilt. Or maybe float them or something?

Also, I can't wait to see what you make for your cinque terre quilt!! Woot!
