I won't be analyzing 100 day Hustle list today because we are almost at our half way point - and have a linky party Friday - so look for a good post then :-) And if you aren't a yarn person - I would look away. It's a yarn day.
What I will share is baby hat #2. Baby happened last Friday and as this is a newborn hat I think I best get it done tonight. I made good headway last night at Tuesday night knitting (with some of my favorite people). Again this is the umbilical cord hat pattern from Stitch n Bitch - easily found here on Ravelry.
It is a real easy pattern and grows before you know it. I am just using a soft baby yarn (Bernat I think) from JoAnn. I flipped it over my needles so you can see what it looks like, and as doing this realized I need to flip the whole thing for real - otherwise my I cord top will be inside the hat - no bueno.

| Just a simple knit pattern - stockinette I believe? Can you tell it is for a little boy? |

| Magic looping - knitting the hat in the round - but no worries - my beloved DPNs are coming! |
Also, does anyone know how to keep your stitches tight at your needle change junctions? I always have looser stitches here - and I am pretty sure I am not knitting with the magic loop right. Please help!

Happy Wednesday and make sure to vote at Blogger's Quilt festival and check out all the other WIPs! Oh and have a great day!

Knitting? boring!!
ReplyDeleteYou doing circle with two needles only? I haven't seen that yet. I used to knit with 5 needles to get the circle. I didn't study vocabulary for knitting so I might just not understand this correctly.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to help with your loose stitch problem, but I had the same problem making socks. I just made sure I pulled the yarn as tight as I could before I started the first stitch on the next needle and it seemed to help. Super cute hat though :)
ReplyDeleteI have that problem too. I try to pull the working thread tight when I pass that point, and it helps a little
ReplyDeleteTo get those stitches tight, when you change needles make sure you pull tight after you knit the second stitch. I don't know why this works, but it does.
