Philosophical Pfriday

Sew Hungry

It has been a while! But let's get back to pondering those quizzical queries we all have :-) Grab the button code from Marla's sidebar over at Sew Hungry to play along!

Cookies. Lots of them. In bubble wrap. Sent to loved ones. I have this issue every year - I have to decide what cookies to make to send off for the holidays. There are SO MANY COOKIES OUT THERE! How do you choose? Requirements I have:

1. Not fragile.
2. Not prone to going stale.
3. Not prone to melting.
4. Not taste like a brick (due to fulfillment of requirements 1-3).

I have also learned a few tricks along the way:
1. Put one or two pieces of bread in the tin or bag or whatever container with the cookies. It doesn't affect taste but keeps cookies from going stale.
2. Place cookies in bags or saran wrap, then cushion them with bubble wrap or newspaper within the tin. See the experiment here.

This year there are a few contenders.

had a chance to sit down and read yet.
That's ok - December isn't until tomorrow!

So - what are your baking aspirations for the holiday season? Any amazing family recipes? Erin over at The Lazy Quilter told me recently that she is in love with baking and has a favorite recipe for bickers - which I have deduced through my mind powers and the interwebs is Australian slang for biscuits. I believe here in the states we call them cookies - mostly because of the cookie monster. But Erin, correct me if I am wrong!

Happy Friday all! Happy end of Novemeber and beginning of December!

  2. I want the molasses ones. Last night we made chocolate chip cookies and started the dough for some gingerbread men.
