I finished my mystery KAL cowl this weekend! Mystery KAL you ask? Michelle over at Knit Purl Hunter was hosting one of her famous Knit-a-longs (KAL) and the cool part was - it was a mystery! The pattern got released piece by piece every week for the entire month of October. So we didn't quite know what our cowl would look like. A group of my friends decided it would be a fun way to ring in Fall and porch knitting weather. You may remember these pictures I have posted of my progress throughout the month:
Intertwisted Part I
Intertwisted Part I, II, and a bit of III
Without further ado I give you Intertwisted - a mystery KAL cowl by yours truly :-)
Scrunchy twisty
It was real interesting putting all the pieces on one needle, then braiding them together. Then once braided - load the ends onto another needle. Bring the two ends of braids together and do a three needle bind off - a lot of firsts for me with this cowl. A great learning experience.

It is a very texture-y cowl. Fits well around my neck with just a little space - so as my friend pointed out - if you had a high collared coat it would scrunch up just right to keep your neck warm.
3 different pieces with different patterns
That last picture you can see the three different patterns. The yarn was this nice wool another friend of mine said she wasn't going to use. I had brought some yarn to use but it wasn't quite worsted weight so I borrowed from her. Need to find some pretty yarn to give her as a thank you.
I recommend this pattern for anyone wanting to learn how to deal with multiple pieces, and also if you want a cowl with some depth. Now - to decide who gets this beauty for Christmas!
Happy crafting to you all! Went and saw Wreck It Ralph today with Marla - what a good movie. Disney delivers again. Here is a little jam that kept me happy all day today.
Wow, that's stunning! It looks like something you'd buy in a store!!
